Soumah Single Vineyard Hexham Chardonnay 2017

$40.00

Tasted at eight years of age, this complex and mineral chardonnay marries the flavour and strength of this excellent white wine vintage with the length and focus for which it is famous. Now beginning to show some toast/butter development, with just a hint of butterscotch, it’s floral and spicy, with undertones of bath salts and coriander. There’s a creamy, nougat-like core of flavour, and hint of lime and a lingering savoury note of marzipan. Delightful.

Soumah
Soumah is a noteworthy arrival in the Yarra Valley scene that is going about the development of its brand and reputation with intelligence and a keen understanding of brand, value and style. A single vineyard operation near Gruyere, it has already impressed with the quality of its chardonnay and savagnin (Savarro), each of which are made in elegant, complex and tightly focused styles. With increasing vine age, the Pinot Noir is also gaining more intensity and structure.
