Fragrant and spicy, musky and floral, it’s scented with dark berries, plums and cherries with meaty undertones and notes of cedar and coffee grounds. Long, smooth and polished, it’s fractionally jammy and over-ripened, underpinned by fine, drying tannins that don’t quite provide genuine structure. Lacking great length of fruit, it does finish savoury and faintly meaty. A good, very honest wine that is quite competitive for its price.
