Mr Mick Shiraz 2021

$18.00

An exceptional wine at its price, this long, luscious shiraz unfolds a spicy bouquet of dark plums, blackberries and cassis knit with smoky, chocolatey oak and lifted by a whiff of cracked pepper. Supported by a fine, firmish spine, it finishes almost savory, with a lingering presence of dark fruits and licorice.

Winery

Tim Adams' second label is a traditional and eclectic collection of table wines suited to the young, contemporary market. They're inexpensive, well made, delightfully fresh and expressive, often over-delivering in the marketplace by some margin - as the current collection certainly does. Just a few decades ago a young Tim Adams cut his winemaking teeth working for Leasingham under the mentorship of one of the Clare Valley's most famous winemakers and people, Mick Knappstein. An inseparable bond was formed, so when Tim and his wife Pam Goldsack were able to but the historic old Leasingham winery from Constellation Wines (now Accolade) in 2010, it was only natural to them to name the wines they made there after Mr Mick himself. The site is now a superb place to visit, chill, taste or dine.
