Elanto Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

$85.00

A faintly herbal bouquet of ripe red cherries, blood plums, smoky cedar/mocha oak, maraschino cherries and a whiff of tomato bush precedes a forward, round and smooth palate whose generous, unctuous fruit is framed by a fine-grained spine that becomes a little more apparent with aeration. There’s pleasing Central Otago-like sweetness and intensity, but it lacks the length and complexity for a higher rating. This is the first pinot released from this high-density vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula.
