Pocket-sized Halliday released

On April 1 James Halliday will release his first ‘Pocket Guide to Wines of Australia’ since the early 1990s, after which the physical dimensions of this publication expanded along with their increased content and detail. This book provides a genuinely pocket-sized option which region by region, covers in brief detail more than 1,100 Australian wine producers. Halliday allots the wineries a star rating which presumably reflects the quality of its best wine. Orlando, for instance, makers of Jacob’s Creek, gets four-and-a-half stars. He makes pithy and pertinent comments about each of the wineries, along with providing contact, production and opening details. I was unable to locate the tasting notes referred to on the cover. Published by HarperCollins, The Pocket Guide to Wines of Australia will sell for $14.95.
