MUST offers imaginative bistro food, a bright selection by the glass and a serious range by the bottle. Look at the prices of the wines and it’s easy to see why this has suddenly become one of Perth’s favourite wine holes. The list is large but easy to navigate, and where appropriate there’s a natural and fair bias towards the wines of Western Australia. The imported selection is thoughtful and affordable, with plenty of reasonably mature wine, but given there’s not very much over $150, it’s all in the range of most of us mortals. The Italian range is terrific, while there’s also an occasional offering from the US, including a couple of red-hot zins from Ridge. The Cellar list at the end of the main list contains some mature and affordable drinking, but my personal preference would be to add them into the main document. I’ve no doubt whatsoever that any wine fiend would have a field day at MUST, and emerge after the experience with more change in the wallet than they might first have expected.
