Australian wine exports for the year ending November 2000 were up by 21% in volume and 24% in value, reaching 307 million litres worth $A1.46 billion. Global wine consumption increased in 1998, with the per capita consumption in the UK increasing to 13.1 litres per head, still well short of Luxembourg (64.5), France (58.8) and Italy (55.6).
