Eyton-on-Yarra, the highly-capitalised venture of the Cowan family in the Yarra Valley, has a new winemaking incumbent from January 1997 in Matt Aldridge, formerly of Rosemount and Killerby. Eyton has experienced difficulty in developing ongoing relationships with its various winemakers since its 1994 opening under former Seppelt maker Tony Royal. There’s no doubting that Aldridge has the winemaking credentials to fulfil the dreams behind Eyton-on-Yarra’s creation out of the old Yarra Vale vineyard. I wish him well.
