Majella, the Lyn family’s emergent Coonawarra wine brand which was tipped some time ago by OnWine as a winery to watch, cleaned up at the Canberra National Wine Show with its 1998 The Malleea, a blend of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz (18.8, drink 2006-2010+), which was awarded trophies for the best dry red (Soft Finish), best dry red in Show and best wine. Another of its eight trophies was for best red at the 2000 Royal Melbourne Wine Show. The Malleea 1998 has also collected a trifling twelve gold medals.
