The unlikely marriage between former Simeon chief executive Neil MacKenzie and his McGuigan counterpart, Brian McGuigan, will end shortly with the announcement of MacKenzie’s pending retirement to set up his own consulting business. The merged entity created by MacKenzie and McGuigan, McGuigan Simeon Wines Ltd, is now Australia’s second largest listed wine company. David Thompson becomes the company’s new production manager and Kevin Pfeiffer is export administration manager. Both report directly to managing director Brian McGuigan. MacKenzie’s retirement payment equates to 24 months salary package and his entitlements under the company’s superannuation scheme.
