The amazing and irrepressible wine marketer Brian McGuigan reports that Brian McGuigan Wines has met or exceeded 2000 vintage forecasts. In a season in which every other maker’s forecasts were shattered by a range of disastrous natural phenomena, this means that (a) McGuigan needs a new forecaster, (b) McGuigan makes the New Testament’s loaves and fishes act look like amateur theatrics, or (c) McGuigan has lived for too long in the Hunter Valley. Irrespective of all of this, his company’s juggernaut rolls ever onwards, with its share price increasing by 13 cents to $3.15.
