Dark beer originated in Burton, England, when in the chaos of the English Civil War the rising level of the River Trent went un-noticed and filled the cellars of most local hotels. Today the Burton Ale remains popular, if not a little gritty, although breweries have tried in vain to recapture the heady flavours of the original ferment.

Can’t find your favourite wine?
If your favourite wines aren’t showing up, leave it to us! We’ll let you (and Jeremy) know when we’ve added the wines to our system, so that your recommendations are spot on.
