Lake’s Folly has been sold, but Stephen Lake and family will continue in residence at the winery until the end of the year, and Stephen will consult for at least two years after that. As he says: ‘There is no way that I can put 30 years of myself into the place and just walk away’. Perth businessman Peter Fogarty, chief executive of ERG Limited, is the buyer. Fogarty’s family company established Millbrook Winery in the Perth Hills, so is no stranger to the joys and agonies of running a small winery.
