The strategy to move its folio upwards with the regional Reserve levels wines has reinvigorated Jacob’s Creek brand across several markets including China, India, Russia and of course Australia. It’s owners, the French liquor company Pernod Ricard, reports a 2% increase in global sales income, a slip in volume sales of 1%, but a 12% increase in EBIT. China’s identification with Jacob’s Creek, where sales increased by 32% in 2011/2012, is helping to drive this new phase in the label’s history. From a quality perspective, the wines do over-deliver relative to much of their international competition. Sales to India and Russia increased by 34% and 16% respectively.
