Hardy’s Eileen Hardy Shiraz 1997 (18.1, drink 2005-2009) is by no means the best wine to appear under this label, but has clearly made a lasting impression with the judges of the International Wine and Spirit Competition. It followed up its trophy win at the 2000 show with the Frescobaldi Trophy for the Best Vintage Red Wine at the 2002 event in London. This award follows hot on the heels of the same wine being named Best Shiraz in Show at the UK’s International Wine Challenge. The Wolf Blass Winery was named Best Winemaker in the World at the 2002 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
