Iain Riggs honoured at Royal Sydney Show

Brokenwood’s chief winemaker and managing director Iain Riggs was recently awarded the Graham Gregory Trophy at the 2003 Royal Sydney Wine Show. Riggs, a well-known wine judge and occasionally outspoken wine personality, was given the award in recognition for his service to NSW wine as a winemaker, industry spokesman and judge. Riggs has overseen the marriage of Seville Estate into Brokenwood’s business as well as managing the steady progress of the Graveyard Shiraz into an icon Australian wine. An inaugural board member of the Winemakers Federation of Australia, President of the Winemakers Forum and Deputy Chairman of Wine Australia until 2002, Riggs has been exceptionally active during his 29 years in wine. He also succeeds Len Evans as Chairman of the Hunter Valley Wine Show.
