Wine exports for the year ended April 2001 are up 22.2% by value and 20% by volume on the previous year, with sales of 331.3 million litres worth $1.58 billion dollars. Sales to the US reached $400 million for the first time, twice the value of sales there just two years ago. In that time the US’ share of Australian wine exports has increased from 9% to 19%.
