Classic chardonnay magnum

[question] Question submitted by Roderick Brown I have a Magnum of 1998 TarraWarra Chardonnay that a mate got me for my wedding 2 years ago. I read in your wine guides I have that you recommend the 750ml bottle be consumed by 2009 (from memory). Given it is a magnum, will the wine be good to drink now, or could I wait a little longer? I dont want to drink it passed its best. Thanks for the website, and informative tasting notes and articles. [/question] [answer] My estimation for the drinking window of the 750 ml sized bottle is 2006-2010. It is however a powerful, full orchestra chardonnay that is unlikely to hang around for too much longer. Being slightly conservative, I’d not keep the magnum too much later than that. [/answer]
