Circa, the excellent restaurant in The Prince Hotel, St Kilda, has been deservedly named winner of the annual Wine List of the Year Awards. For several years Circa has been one of my favourite places to open truly fine wine. Its staff are also every bit as good as the list they work from. Naturally, Circa was also awarded Best Restaurant. Other awards were: Best Club Restaurant: Downs Club (Qld), Best Country/Regional Restaurant: Franklin Manor (Tas), Best Small Wine List: Balmain Eating House (NSW), Best Pub Restaurant: The Ozone (Vic), Best Cafe/Brasserie/Trattoria: Grape Wine and Food Bar (Qld), Best New Restaurant: Celsius (NSW).
