Outpointing even Seppelt at Canberra was BRL Hardy, with eight trophies, 17 gold medals, 22 silver and 52 bronze medals. The trophies included that for the best bottle fermented sparkling white wine for the 1995 Arras Pinot Chardonnay (17.5, drink 1997-2000), the twelfth consecutive ‘Best Sparkling White Wine of the Show’ trophy the company has collected on the Australian wine show circuit. That’s a major achievement for sparking winemaker Ed Carr. The Eileen Hardy Chardonnay 1999 won three trophies, including the best white table wine, best dry white wine and best premium chardonnay.
