Mike Calneggia, until recently a executive director of the fast-expanding Evans & Tate wine company, recently paid A$640,000 for a 19.9% share in Hotham Wines, an ambitious Western Australian wine project that has experienced difficult times. A rights issue aims to raise another A$4.8m is planned, while Calneggia is hoping that shareholders will make him executive chairman of the company.
