Blue Pyrenees Estate, once the southern jewel in the crown of Remy-Cointreau, has been sold to a syndicate headed by two Sydney businessmen, John Ellis and Bill Anderson, for A$15 million. For several months a management buyout had looked likely. Remy originally put a price of A$20 million on the estate, which includes 185 ha of mature producing vineyards, its brands and all current stock. The company’s annual production of around 90,000 produces revenue around $15 million and is divided between the labels of Blue Pyrenees, Fiddler’s Creek and Ghost Gum. Key staff will remain.
