Ian Bird, a respected former wine retailer who until recently headed the Victorian office of Distinguished Vineyards, Petaluma’s (and now Lion Nathan’s) distribution arm, recently accepted an offer to run marketing and sales operations for successful small Victorian winemaker, Scotchman’s Hill. The move should benefit both parties, as Bird brings a wealth of experience with pinot noir and chardonnay. He says he is looking forward to introducing to the market a number of individual vineyard wines, especially a new shiraz.
