Another Upcoming SA Classic from 2002

One of the questions most often asked of a wine writer is the best wine around the trade under $20. Personally, I hate this sort of enquiry, since the answer demands more computing power than my brain can usually deliver. But, once the Peter Lehmann Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 is released later in the year (around September), I’ll have a ready answer. It’s perfumed and very aromatic, laced with dark fruits and olives, while the palate is long, even and seamless. Marking a recently bottled sample very hard, I almost scored it a gold medal. In my mind it’s the best wine released under this most reliable of brands for years. It also has plenty of legs for improvement in the cellar. So make a note and don’t forget!
