This country’s love affair with wine is getting deeper, according to 2009/2010 figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. While beer is still consumed at a rate of 103.3 litres per person over the age of 15 years, equating to 4.56 litres of pure alcohol, that number is less than the 106.6 litres knocked back just a single year ago. During 2009/2010 we took to wine at an average of 30.0 litres per year, or 3.81 litres of pure alcohol per head per year.
