Former diplomat and Southcorp figurehead David Combe, whose reported comments about the UK wine retail trade at a Paris conference recently threw Australia’s peak wine export body into a major spin, has bobbed up as a new director of Mudgee-based publicly listed wine producer Simon Gilbert Wines. The company is presently attempting to raise A$4.982 million. Combe’s arrival coincides with the resignation of directors John Quirk and Simon Gilbert.
