Breaking News: The Rathbone family, owners of Yering Station and Mount Langi Ghiran, today announced their acquisition of Parker Coonawarra Estates. The sale will be completed in May 2004, for an undisclosed amount. Parker, which was founded by the John Parker in the 1980s, has achieved worthy acclaim for its Terra Rossa First Growth Cabernet Sauvignon. My first impression is that this is an excellent deal that fits well with the Rathbone’s existing assets and provides a solid measure of security for the Parker brand.
