As you can see, I have returned to my old website. This is because the site I had moved to last week failed to meet the standards I and my subscribers expect. That this came as something of a major surprise to me is something of an understatement, especially after the very intense process prior to its launch. This old site has been rapidly updated as much as its antiquated back end will allow, and I will continue to populate it with more information over coming weeks. Since last week it has received several thousand ratings and tasting notes. More will come. All people who were current subscribers to this site on June 15 this year have received an additional 200 days complimentary subscription. This covers the 6 months I had earlier indicated, plus some additional time in lieu of recent inconveniences. I hope you are happy with this. Subscribers who did not renew their subscription prior to June 15 will be given a free 6 month trial of my new site when it is launched later in the year. I have already commenced the process that will lead to the development and launch of a(nother) new site later. It will combine the robust qualities of this platform with all the functionality I had been hoping to incorporate into the new site. This new site will only be launched once fully tested and serviceable. Once this happens, previous subscribers of mine will be offered the 6 months trial I referred to earlier. The last 12 months of web development have been of a forgettable kind, although the lessons learned are permanently etched into my consciousness. I am still committed to launching a new site in the near future that will provide a more versatile means of communication and one that takes full advantage of a suite of new technologies. I am keen to develop a means by which subscribers can interact to a greater degree, for I regularly find that many of the most interesting ideas and leads in wine come from the public perspective. While my working life sees me actively engaged in a range of activities including wine promotions and events around Australia and around the world, especially in Asia, my website is an integral part of what I do. It will only become more important over time. I look forward to taking the next step forward to provide you with a better product and service in the neat future. Jeremy Oliver.
