Itchy time for winemakers

Hot on the heels of the departures of Larry Cherubino from Houghton and Steve Pannell from its owner, The Hardy Wine Company, comes news that Michael Fragos has departed Tatachilla (where he was general manager and senior winemaker) to become chief winemaker at the very much smaller Chapel Hill winery. In breaking news, Andrew Koerner is moving from Rosemount Estate’s Denman winery to Blue Pyrenees Estate in Victoria’s Pyrenees region. Koerner, if you recall, was the first Southcorp winemaker to attempt to claim the 2002 Jimmy Watson Trophy, before it was eventually handed to his McLaren Vale colleague, Charles Whish.
