Unique 1996 Grange for sale

A very special bottle of wine goes under the hammer this Saturday night in Melbourne, Australia, at The Deafblind Association’s Wines of the Decade Auction. Former Essendon Football Club dual premiership player Dean Wallis has put up for sale a bottle of Penfolds Grange 1996 that has been autographed in gold ink by every player in Essendon’s 2000 premiership team. This team has been described by many people, including former Melbourne legend Don Cordner, as the greatest team ever to play Australian football. The list of autographs, which includes coach Kevin Sheedy, are neatly arranged in columns down the bottle, which is presented in a wooden box. The bottle, which is numbered, is one of just 24 in existence with these autographs. Proceeds of this sale will assist Victorian people with deafblindness or multiple disabilities. If you are interested in registering an absentee bid for this lot, or would like further information, please e-mail Robyn Hodges at The Deafblind Association on [email protected] with your details and the maximum amount you would like to bid. In the event that your bid is successful, you will pay only $1 more than the next highest bidder. The auction takes place at a black tie dinner at the Grand Hyatt. If you are interested in attending this event, please call Robyn Hodges on 03 9882 7055.
