With sales for the twelve months to the end of May reaching 503 million litres (value A$2.4 billion), Australia’s annual wine exports have passed the 500 million litre benchmark. Just ten years ago, wine exports were around 100 million litres. The recent figures came despite a smaller than anticipated return in April on the back of a stronger local currency that has grown by around 17% against the US dollar this year.
