In the lead-up to Penfolds Rewards of Patience tasting later this year Penfolds is appealing to wine lovers throughout the world to help find some rare old Penfolds wines. Two wines in particular are being sought from the public, the 1948 Kalimna Cabernet Sauvignon and the 1955 St Henri Shiraz. Until this latter wine showed up at a recorking clinic, the company believed the first experimental St Henri was made in 1956. Anyone offering a genuine bottle of these wines is invited to attend the segment of the Rewards of Patience Tasting in which it figures, plus dinner with the panel at Penfolds Magill Estate. Should you own either of these wines, contact Penfolds Consumer Relations on 1300 651 650. I just hope Penfolds didn’t forget to ask the two suspended male and female employees arrested over thefts from the winery of more than A$614,000 of premium wine since 2000.
