Wine researcher Dr Patrick Iland and Penfolds’ Chief Winemaker Peter Gago have released the latest edition of their introductory wine book. Titled Australian Wine Styles and Tastes, it’s a genuine attempt to present everything a beginner needs to know about wine. The text is clearly presented, the illustrations and photographs by Richard Humphrys clear and informative. In my view it’s important that there’s a fully updated Australian wine primer on the market all the time, and this is clearly the most current and comprehensive. The hard-covered book comprises 208 pages and retails for $44.95.
