2002 was another record year for Australian wine exports, which increased by 30% in value to reach A$2.3 billion, and 26% by volume to reach 471 million litres. The UK remains Australia’s major export customer, taking 39% of the total value at A$902 million. The US is the second largest destination with A$741 million followed by Canada at A$150 million. Remember these figures have been achieved in a year of fluctuating exchange rates, a slower US economy and global cries of gloom and doom.
