Hazel Murphy, who has been instrumental in the development of Australian wine sales in the UK, has become the European Consultant and Director of Chapel Hill Winery in McLaren Vale. After 17 years she has decided not to renew her appointment as CEO of the Australian Wine Bureau in London, but views this as the first of a number of specific private projects she will undertake. Hazel Murphy has overseen an increase in exports to the UK from 750,000 litres in 1985 to the present level of 190 million litres.
