Introduced in the previous issue, Seppelt’s 1984 Eden Valley Riesling (17.9), secretive brainchild of chief winemaker Ian McKenzie, will face the market sometime in 1997. Made in the typically lean, almost under-ripe Eden Valley tradition, it is scented with lemon blossom, citrus rind, pear and a light toastiness. Tight, long and cut with chalky acids, it should develop for at least another decade.
