Never! But Walter Bourke has been accused of making up names for the wines he serves at the newly-opened Walter’s Wine Bar in Brisbane. Following the pattern of his successful establishment at Southbank in Melbourne, Bourke is keen to introduce inquisitive and thirsty Queenslanders to rare wines of his native Victoria. Labels such as Bindi, Moorooduc and Murrundindee have created a storm, especially in the case of one customer who asked if Bourke named the wines after players AFL club Essendon rejected!
