Champagne Rose still has an image problem in some circles, but Moet et Chandon’s Brut Imperial Rose 1993 is no wine for wimps. It’s a firm, assertive and quite tannic wine whose fresh forward fruit, mushroomy complexity and creamy texture finish with punctuation and impact with citrusy acids. It’s a little sweaty, although I enjoy the intensity of its raspberry and strawberry, apricot and nectarine fruit. Comprising 62% pinot noir, 28% chardonnay and 10% pinot meunier, the wine rates 17.8 and retails around $89.00.
