Rosemount Estate’s Philip Shaw now regularly fields phone calls from Penfolds winemakers keen to find how his young reds are so drinkable. Rosemount’s diamond label Shiraz Cabernet has made a habit of picking up trophies and top marks in early-drinking classes in most of the shows it enters. Keeping any voodoo secrets strictly to himself, Shaw says he’s simply trying to make wine which people want to drink.
