Editorial – OnWine Every Month

Welcome to the December issue of The OnWine Report. It would hardly require the intelligence of Einstein to suggest that either OnWine or I, or both, have gone on a diet. In actual fact, this issue is 80% lighter than that which you probably expected. There is a reason for this; several, in fact. The very clear message from OnWine readers is for more constant and regularly updated information on new Australian wines and issues affecting the industry. The incredible expansion in recent times has resulted in an endless stream of new releases, many of which are so sought after that they sell out in weeks or less, so OnWine has to become a more frequently issued publication. The OnWine Report has now become a monthly publication, with no increase in subscription rates for its readers. Cut-off dates for subscriptions will be determined on the basis that readers with four issues remaining on their existing subscriptions will now receive eight, those with three will receive six, and so on. Instead of receiving six issues of twenty pages each for a single subscription, readers will receive four quarterly issues based the previous format of twenty pages. For the months in between these issues, The OnWine Report will be a four-page full colour document, of which half is to be devoted to the Out Now column. Other space will be allocated to industry news and up-to-the minute breaking stories. The outcome is that every month you will receive the full Out Now details, plus regularly updated industry information. Every quarter you will receive the full magazine style publication. OnWine will now offer a broader and more up-to-date new releases service, plus a more regular and frequent contact with you, the subscribers. This issue is the first of the monthly OnWine Reports. The January issue will be the first of the larger quarterly editions. I am presently working to offer a fully downloadable format to enable OnWine subscribers to receive the latest issues at the OnWine site, www.onwine.com.au, and hope to have news of a development at the site shortly. I hope you appreciate the new OnWine concept and that with your family and friends you enjoy a happy and safe Christmas.
