Its recent US$1.6 billion American acquisition, Beringer, added A$63.7 million EBIT to Foster’s Brewing Group Ltd’s higher than expected pre-abnormal net profit for the six months to December 31 or A$293.1 million. All this in just three months of Foster’s ownership. The contribution to EBIT made during the same six months by Foster’s Australian wine assets, Mildara Blass, was A$103.9 million. Last issue I suggested that Beringer might be able to teach Mildara Blass a thing or two!
