$45.00Jeremy’s score 90/100A finely crafted pinot whose heady, floral bouquet of raspberries, cherries and sweet red rose petals is offset by restrained cedar/vanilla oak. Medium in weight, it’s smooth and unctuous, with a gentle but mouthfilling expression of pristine small red fruit that drives with softness and suppleness down a fine, pliant spine towards a finish of red licorice and gentle but brightly lit acids that will become savoury over time.

Charmingly round and generous, its unctuous, measured palate of vibrant red fruits and faintly charry oak extends with remarkable length and movement towards a lingering savoury finish. A significant step upwards for this vineyard from a vintage that proved very challenging to many. Hesket enters the top bracket of Victorian pinot. More herbaceous than when first tasted, but a good wine.
