Bright, penetrative and translucently clear, its mouthfilling core of pristine fruit extends down a finely crunchy and powdery spine, tightly shaped by a refreshing and slightly brittle acidity. Long, focused and streamlined, it’s a Clare classic.

Pikes
Pikes is a family-owned and operated winery that produces some of Clare’s finest wines, especially from its white speciality of riesling. More recent years have seen a steady refinement in the company's reds, with a distinctive movement towards more elegance and refinement, particularly with the quality of tannin now seen regularly. Pikes have long worked with sangiovese, and the Il Premio has stepped into the top echelon of Australian expressions. I'm particularly pleased with the purity and restraint of the EWP Shiraz, delivering classical Clare depth and flavour but in a more international style.
