Long and austere, this floral and dusty chardonnay opens with a light aroma of quince, melon and cumquat fruit backed by toasty, waxy, buttery and nutmeal-like nuances, with a hint of herbaceousness. Initially round and juicy, its extends in a leaner and tighter fashion towards its crisp, mineral finish of lemon, lime and pineapple.

Bindi
It hasn't taken long for Bindi to become a signature vineyard. Located on a series of wonderfully sunny cool- climate sites whose varying, gentle but fortuitously directed slopes of grey loam soils have a healthy content of quartz, Bindi can produce pinot and chardonnay of great perfume, purity and texture. Michael Dhillon recently made some interesting name and label changes to his wines, recognising important forebears and contributors to the Bindi name, none of which are more significant than Kostas Rind, Bindi's inspiration and my childhood neighbour. The 2014 wines are exemplary -Ę right on cue.
