Deep, dark and profoundly ripe, earthy and leathery, this classically rich and powerfully fruited Rutherglen shiraz delivers impactful plum, berry and prune-like flavour with gentle oak and meaty undertones. Its bouquet is underpinned by scents of the roasting tray, while there's plenty of fine, drying tannins beneath its sumptuous core of fruit that will enable it to develop for at least a decade.

Morris' historic trio of Shiraz, Durif and Blue Imperial (which has from time to time been labelled as its pseudonym of Cinsault) are typically rustic, earthy and meaty reds that are steadily acquiring more depth and structure. The deeply flavoured, wild and gamey Durif is a house speciality. Its owner, Pernod Ricard, is reinvesting in its Morris vineyards to develop an iconic series of table and fortified wines. The results have included the first release of the extraordinary CHM Durif from 2007 (95/100, drink 2027-2037).
